Insights into Leadership

At Thamesmead SCITT, we recognise that there are many trainees, who, even at this early stage of the teaching career, may be interested in finding out more about what it means to be a school leader.

Our 'Insiights Into Leadership Programme' is a certificated, bespoke programme which is designed and delivered to enable trainees to gain some experience into either pastoral, curriculum or Senior Leadership Team roles in order to support them to make informed choices as they move through their career.

Alumni

Many of our trainees move on to leadership roles in partner schools and beyond; here are just a few:

Dhru Patel - 2018 - Head of House - Bishop David Brown School

Alexa Innes - 2017 - Head of MFL - Highcrest Academy

Faye Willans - 2014 - Head of Careers - Thamesmead School

Rayne Campbell - 2013 - Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion - Thamesmead School

Angelina Daniel - 2011 - Assistant Headteacher, Teaching and Learning - St Paul's Catholic College

Alex Leyland - 2009 - Head of PE - The Bishop Wand School

Recognition

In 2014, Ofsted noted that,

"Trainees often find teaching jobs within the partnership, and many move quickly into positions of additional responsibility and leadership."
