Selection

When an application has been received from UCAS, a decision will be made very quickly, often the same day, on whether to call a candidate for interview.

UCAS will be updated and an invite to interview will be emailed to the candidate.

Our selection process is designed in order for us to assess candidates suitability to teach.

Candidates invited to an interview day will be required to complete the following:-

  • A brief Subject Knowledge Audit
  • A written literacy and numeracy test
  • Teaching a 20 minute lesson using a pre-set topic in the candidates specific subject area
  • Attending a one to one interview

All training places offered within our partnership are subject to the following criteria:-

  • Passing a fitness to teach assessment
  • Obtaining an enhanced DBS check to verify suitability for working with children
  • Successfully passing the Professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy prior to entry

Following the recruitment day candidates will be informed of the outcome within two days.  

For non-salaried courses, a £150 non re-fundable admin fee is due upon acceptance on the course to cover registration, DBS, health assessment and Induction costs.

Successful candidates will then be will then be placed in one of our partner schools.
