Our partnership

Thamesmead SCITT is an ITT provider based in North West Surrey.  We first began our teacher training work back in 2003 and since then we have trained many teachers to a good or outstanding level.

Many providers will say that they are special and unique, but for the Thamesmead SCITT this really is the case. The special thing about us is that we are a provider that can offer highly personalised training by offering a limited amount of places each year in order to ensure that our partner schools have the highest quality trainee teachers.  Having a close working relationship with each partner school is vitally important, as it enables us to place trainees in a department where staff are often known to the SCITT Director and which have the capacity to provide excellent training.

Every trainee has a subject mentor who will work with them closely during their training year.  At the Thamesmead SCITT we select our mentors carefully to ensure that they are good and outstanding practitioners and that they have excellent inter-personal skills to enable them to provide nurturing support as well as having the know how to challenge trainees when that is needed.

It is vitally important to us that all of our trainees have the best possible learning experience and we believe that our strong partnership provides a supportive, nurturing and challenging training year that develops highly effective teachers.  This is undoubtedly why Thamesmead SCITT is so successful.

All of us who work in the Thamesmead Partnership are passionate about teacher training and we are very proud of our success rate in recent years.
